GAME 12: TIGERS VS BRANDON WHEAT KINGS

VS BRANDON: This is the first of four meetings this season between the Tigers and Wheat Kings. Last season, Medicine Hat posted a 3-1-0-0 record versus the Wheat Kings (2-0-0-0 at home and 1-1-0-0 in Brandon). Leading the way for the Tigers was forward Emerson Etem (4G, 5A) with nine points in four games. Tyler Bunz (3-0-0-0) started three games in net and allowed seven goals (2.32 GAA) on 90 shots (.922 Save %). Kenny Cameron (0-1-0-0) also got a start in net allowing five goals (5.07 GAA) on 36 shots (.861 Save %). On the power play the Tigers went 5 for 13 (38.5%), while killing off 11 of 12 Wheat Kings’ opportunities (91.7%).

MILESTONES: Hunter Shinkaruk has continued his point a game pace throughout the first 11 games of the season and is approaching a scoring milestone. Shinkaruk is closing in on 150 career points. He currently has 145 points (69G, 76A) in 140 career games. Boston Leier recently collected his 50th career point. He currently has 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points in 133 games. Curtis Valk and Dylan Bredo are also both closing in on 50 career assists. Bredo currently sits with 46 assists and Valk is only one behind him at 45. Jacob Doty and Derek Ryckman both recently passed the 300 PIM plateau.
