TIGERS ACQUIRE 20-YEAR-OLD PEARCE FROM KOOTENAY

MEDICINE HAT, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers announced this afternoon they have acquired 20-year-old forward ELGIN PEARCE from the Kootenay Ice. In return, the Tigers will send a fifth round draft pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft to the Ice.

"We are excited to add Elgin to our line up," said Tigers' gm/head coach Shaun Clouston. "He is a competitive player with great skill, is a proven scorer and comes from a winning organization."

Pearce is coming off last season with Kootenay scoring 21 goals while adding 14 assists for 35 points. He is entering his fourth WHL season with the three previous years being with Kootenay.

The native of Port Coquitlam, BC will join the Tigers in time for their west coast swing next week into the BC division.

The Tigers jump back into action tonight as they take on the visiting Regina Pats. Game time is 7:30 pm.
