While the Medicine Hat Tigers technically played a pair of preseason games prior to Sunday's contest versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes, most of the team's veterans made their first appearance in true game action since training camp began.

Though the club likely feels it left something to be desired on the defensive end of an 8-4 win, the Tigers had little trouble generating offence. As many might expect, the entourage of point-grabbing came from players the team's brass probably expects to contribute a sizable chunk of team scoring this year.

Taking their first strides in this year's preseason, forwards Hunter Shinkaruk and Curtis Valk did not disappoint the small contingent of fans at the Arena, as the veteran duo combined for four goals and 10 points, and enjoyed puck control whenever they were on the ice.
